My story...I grew up in an environment where fashion was not just a statement, but a means of therapy. In 1984, my mother opened up RIO Boutique in the heart of Downtown Detroit. She literally started with a rack and a dress. From there she built and rebuilt women's lives thru clothing, make-up, skincare,and accessories. She was my rock, my admiration for the idea that fashion can not only make a women look good but make a women feel a sense of empowerment...feel a sense of purpose in an unreasonable world. It was the clothes that made me look up to my mom, but it was the time that she shared with her customers. Her attention to detail, her love for people, her passion for making people feel good, and she did it very meticulously thru an ensemble. She took time out to help women build an image for themselves. One that they could related to yet make them feel confident that it works! In remembrance if my mother passing in April of 2005, I have decided to correlate her vision with my love unique vintage clothing...and thus Jared Ramal Vintage was born.
